Caring for heritage

Back to Lectures

In Autumn 2025, the historic Orsoni furnace, in collaboration with the Centro di Studi Torcellani, will host a series of conferences dedicated to the care and preservation of mosaic heritage through the story of three extraordinary restoration projects.

These talks will offer the public a privileged insight into the discoveries and challenges that every restoration brings to light, thanks to the direct voices of those who experience the daily life of the worksite and tackle the complexities of conservation firsthand.

The focus of our biweekly meetings will be three masterpieces of mosaic art: the Basilica of San Marco in Venice, the Baptistery of San Giovanni in Florence, the Cathedral of Monreale.

A unique opportunity to discover the secrets and timeless beauty of these monuments.
